The Archko Volume : or The Archeological Writings of the Sanhedrim and Talmuds of the Jews (intra secus)
Mahan, W. D. (William Dennes), 1824-1906
Includes translations from Hebrew, Latin, and Greek of archeological manuscripts from the first century AD.
One is the Acts of Pilate, a letter alleged to be the report that Pontius Pilate sent to Caesar to explain his side of the events surrounding the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ, and there are writings attributed to Herod Antipas and to Caiaphas, the Chief Priest at the time of the Crucifixion.
The editor, William Dennes Mahan, believed that all the manuscripts are authentic and correctly attributed. Later scholars doubt some of the accuracy.
They are not divinely inspired accounts, and they can have some benefit in reading them while keeping belief and trust in Divine Revelation intact.
