theologie sacrementaire
Wilbert Gobbois a very important subject in our Christian life.
The sacraments are essential for the spiritual life of a Christian. Our theologoumenon
is that "'Jesus Christ is the sacrament of God', 'the Church is the sacrament of Christ'
and 'the sacraments make the Church and the Church make the sacraments'".
We will deepen our knowledge of these sacraments starting from the three loci
theologici of the Scriptures, the Christian Tradition and the human context. In
addition, our method will be systematic and systemic.
The first chapter consists of a definitional approach to the sacraments. We will
highlight the meaning of terms like sacrament, sign, symbol, language, ex opere
operato and ex opere operantis.
The second chapter will examine the biblical basis of the theology of the sacraments.
Here's a key question: Did Christ institute the seven sacraments?
The reflection of the theology of the sacraments in the Christian tradition will be
devoted to the third chapter. We will analyze the evolution of sacramental theology
from the time of the Fathers of the Church to the Vatican Council II.
The theology of the sacraments in the contemporary context will be treated in the
fourth chapter. The last chapter helps us to fully understand contemporary
sacramental theology by means of diagrams.
In the second part, we will reflect on the Sacraments of initiation. This part involves
the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. We will investigate on the
biblical foundation of each sacrament, the apostolic tradition of each sacrament to our
time. We hope to reflect on the possibility of inculturation of these sacraments
especially in the African Church.
